Hankyung stepped out of the elevator and pulled out the list again. He let out a slight pout before heading out the doors. Smiling at the driver, and pointed to the first thing on his list, going to a dog café to pick up Siwon’s dog. His driver thought for a minute before nodding, “I remember where it is.” He opened the door for Hankyung and smiled.
“Thank you,” Hankyung stepped out of the car, “You’ll wait?” The driver nodded and Hankyung walked towards the dog café. The door jiggled when it opened, and a chorus of barks welcomed him.
“Hello, can we help you?” a young girl came over to Hankyung, who looked very lost among seeing the different dogs.
“Yes, I’m here to pick up Siwon’s dog,” Hankyung pulled out a file, thus pulling out a sheet of paper saying Hankyung had permission from Siwon to get his dog, along with the Choi Empire seal at the bottom.
“Ah, yes, she was the sweetest thing ever, she had to be cleaned a lot though, the bill is a bit higher than usual,” she opened the latched door and Hankyung stepped into the chaos of dogs. “You’ll have to mind them; it’s been a while since we had someone new come in.” She smiled and went to go fetch Siwon’s dog. “Andy, where are you girl?” After the name being called a mid-sized dog came running towards the girl. “There you are, trying to hide from me again?” The dog barked as if she understood her. “Come on girl, your owner is taking you back home today.” The dog barked happily, following the girl towards Hankyung. “This is Andy, Choi Siwon’s American Eskimo Dog, and will we be sending the bill to his house?”
Hankyung looked at the white dog, it seemed nice enough, he put his hand out to scratch her chin, but she had backed away with a growl. He looked at the girl and shrugged, “I don’t know, I could—“ Hankyung’s phone rang, he smiled and excused himself. “Hello, yes Choi-shii, yes Andy is here, she would— you would like it to be sent to the house, yes, I understand.” Hankyung hung up and turned back to the girl, “he said—“
“To the house, I overheard,” she smiled and grabbed the leash and hooked it onto Andy’s collar. “You listen to Hankyung okay?” Andy looked at her before barking softly, letting Hankyung lead her out of the dog café and into the car.
“Where to?” the driver looked at Hankyung from the front seat. Hankyung rubbed his temples and smiled at him.
“I guess, I should take her home and get her settled before going back out I guess,” Hankyung let out a wary smile, he had felt Andy stare at him. He turned and looked at her; her eyes laughed at him and looked as if they were saying ‘you’re in for hell’. Hankyung put out his hand but pulled it back when Andy growled and went into a launching position. Hankyung sighed and rubbed his eyes, before looking out the window, Andy didn’t want anything to do with him, and he might as well do the same. Suddenly Hankyung jumped a bit out of his seat, as he felt his phone vibrate in his bag. He put his hand over his chest before pulling it out, “Hello? Donghae, bring her to the company, is that so, that’s fine.” Hankyung hung up and smiled at the driver, “To the company instead.” He rubbed the back of his head, slightly bowing to the driver in apology. “Please.”
The driver nodded, before laughing at the look on Hankyung’s face, when he noticed Andy was still glaring at him. “Don’t worry Hankyung, she was like to me as well, you just have to gain her trust, that’s all, if not, she’ll make your life living hell.” He laughed and made a sharp turn, Hankyung jerked forward, Andy, however, stayed in the same spot, unmoved. The driver looked back and laughed as again, “Sorry Hankyung.” He, then, turned around and started speeding down the busy street towards Choi Empire. Hankyung ran his fingers through his hair before leaning back against the seat.
Again, his phone ran again, “Hello? Donghae, I’m on my way, yes, just a minute.” Hankyung covered the mouth piece and looked, “How long until we get to the office?”
“About fives minutes,” he driver looked in the rear-view mirror before looking back towards the road.
“About five minutes, yes, understood,” Hankyung hung up and looked at the driver again. “He wants me there in three. Choi-shii, is going to be the death of me.” Hankyung mumbled and closed his eyes for some more shut eye. Minutes later, the door was opened and Hankyung stepped out of the car with Andy next to him. He had felt Andy’s aura change, it was less intimating but the feeling was still there. Hankyung walked up to the door and held the door open for Andy, who pranced in with her head held high.
“Hankyung,” Donghae smiled and walked towards them. He looked at Andy and rubbed her chin, “And Andy, you look beautiful as ever.” Andy licked Donghae’s head and looked around. “I’m sorry Andy, you know, I don’t bring Bada to work with me.” Hankyung offered the leash and Donghae laughed before taking a hold of it.
“She likes you,” Hankyung stated as they walked towards the elevator.
“Of course she likes me,” Donghae laughed. “Don’t worry; you just have to gain her trust, like you have to gain Siwon’s.” Donghae patted Hankyung’s back, “Don’t worry; Andy will see you’re trustable, it just takes time.”
“So does everything else, Donghae,” Hankyung smiled and stepped out of the elevator before turning to Siwon’s door. “Did he want to see me?”
“Yeah, Andy can wait for him, go,” Donghae pushed Hankyung slightly and turned and walked towards his desk with a happy Andy following him.
Hankyung knocked on the door, waiting for a come in, before entering. “You wanted to see me.”
Siwon pointed to the folder on his desk, without having to turn to look at Hankyung, “This is the things I want to do, throw away the other one, and get started on this. I would also like you to pack some clothes for me for my business trip,” he paused and turned to face Hankyung. “I’ll be gone for about a week so pack at least a week’s worth of clothing, more if you wish, all the instructions are in the folder.” Siwon instructed. He handed the folder to Hankyung, before turning back around. Hankyung looked at the new folder it seemed to be thicker if not bigger. Hankyung bowed and left the room.
“Hankyung, you should go, I’ll take Andy home,” Donghae smiled and looked up at Hankyung before returning to Andy. Hankyung nodded and disappeared into the elevator, and opened the folder.
“First on the list is to go pick up a contract from 幸運홍예틀,” Hankyung looked at the Chinese and Korean name and stared at it for a minute before heading out to the waiting car.
“Where are we going, Hankyung?” It was a different driver from earlier.
“To 幸運홍예틀*,” Hankyung smiled as he slipped into the car and began to look over the folder. The driver slipped into the car and drove into the busy streets of
The young boy looked up from his magazine and from what Hankyung could see it was a music magazine. “From Choi Empire, representing Choi Siwon?” Hankyung looked at the file again, before nodding. “They are excepting you, they’re on the tenth floor, but they’re in a meeting right now, they should be done when you get up there though.” He smiles and Hankyung notices that his Korean was accented like his own, but he didn’t get to ask as another person comes up to the desk. Hankyung quietly mumbled a thank you before slipping away towards the elevator. Hankyung yawned in the elevator, and didn’t notice that the elevator had reached his floor until someone had asked him if he was getting off. He laughed and thanked the person before getting off.
He walked up to the desk and before he could speak, he was cut off with a hand, “Really… oppaaa~ you said you won’t do that.”
“Exc—“
The girl looked up and looked Hankyung up and down before talking, “can’t you see I’m talking on the phone? They’re in a meeting right now, go seat and wait.” She waved him off before going back to her conversation. Hankyung looked at her, shocked but made his way towards the seats on the other wall. While waiting Hankyung looked at the folder, seeing what he had to do after receiving the contracts.
”But Kui Xun, the monkeys don’t know what they’re talking about,” a Chinese voice followed its way into Hankyung’s hearing range.
“Hyung, this is
“But if I don’t speak Chinese, how are you going to remember all the words I’ve taught you, when we go to our next meeting in China, if you forget them all,” the first voice came back in, almost teasing the other.
“Shut up, your voice is annoying me already, Tiffany, get off the damn phone,” the second voice demanded and ‘Tiffany’ hung up the phone without saying bye. “I pay you to answer phones for us, not for you to make your own damned phone calls to god-knows-who.”
“Is Siwon’s representative here yet?” A tall, skinny man looked around with his fox-like eyes, scanning the room before noticing Hankyung sitting there with his file open and watching the exchange. “Are you Siwon’s representative?” The fox-eyed man eyed him, looking him up and down before confirming it himself. “Kui Xun, that’s Siwon’s representative.”
‘Kui Xun’ looked Hankyung before smiling, “Please, come in.” He opened the office door and invited Hankyung in. He turned to ‘Tiffany’ and glared, “I better not hear your damn voice when I’m in here, or you’re fired.” Tiffany nodded so fast, Hankyung was scared that her head was going to fall off or something of that sort. ‘Kui Xun’ and the fox-eyed man walked in after Hankyung; closing the door they went to see at the long desk where there were two chairs, two computers, almost two of everything. “Please seat, I’m Cho Kyuhyun, and this idiot beside me is Zhou Mi.”
”I’m not an idiot, you’re the idiot—“
“Anyways, you’re here for the contracts right? Siwon is pretty busy, getting ready for the big meeting in
“Chinese Kui Xun Chinese,” ZhouMi bothers and still trying to get Kyuhyun to speak Chinese again. Hankyung couldn’t help but to laugh at ZhouMi. ZhouMi’s head turned to look at Hankyung. “Do you understand what I’m saying?”
Hankyung laughed a bit more before answer, “Of course I do, and besides you don’t see people arguing in Korean and in Chinese all the time.” Hankyung smiled before standing. “I really should get going; I have more errands to run.” He bowed before handing towards the door.
“Kui Xun, stop him, we found another Chinese-speaking native,” ZhouMi whined to Kyuhyun.
“Do your own dirty work, I have a company to run,” Kyuhyun talked back.
“Is that anyway to talk to someone older than you?” ZhouMi shrieked and Hankyung heard him hit Kyuhyun’s arm. “And besides this company is nothing one or the other,” ZhouMi spoke in a serious-like voice
“Please this company is as good without as it would be with you. You’re just a plus to my business,” Kyuhyun looked at ZhouMi and laughed before turned to Hankyung. “You can stay a while, I need someone to run some errands for me, I’m sure Siwon wouldn’t mind, and if he does tell him to call me.”
Hankyung looked at the folder that was lodged in between to other folders and some other papers, “I guess—“
“Great, I have someone else to talk with in Chinese,” ZhouMi beamed.
Kyuhyun rolled his eyes, “Can you get this to YooNa, she’s on—“
“She’s on the third floor, could you stop by the fifth floor when you come back up and grab me a coffee,” ZhouMi smiled. “Kui Xun doesn’t go and get them for me anymore.”
“My name isn’t Kui Xun, its Kyuhyun,” Kyuhyun rolled his eyes. “Ignore his request; he’s had, like, three this morning.”
Hankyung nodded and turned for the door, he laughed a bit when he heard ZhouMi whining in Chinese and Kyuhyun arguing back in Korean. He looked at the girl at the desk again, and she was back to talking on the phone. He looked at his watch and it told him that he was in there for a while. He sighed and stepped onto the elevator. He hummed along with the music, and then suddenly his phone rang. Surprised that he got service in an elevator, Hankyung answered it.
“Hello? Eeteuk-shii, yes, I’m working right now, no I’m at 幸運홍예틀 right now, I don’t know when I’ll get back to Choi Empire, oh you’re waiting for me, I’ll do my best to get there as soon as I can,” Hankyung stepped out of the elevator, while still listening to Eeteuk talk. He smiled and pointed at the name on the file. The girl smiled and thanked him before disappearing into the different cubicles, only to reappear with another folder.
“It’s for Zhou-shii, he wanted them yesterday, but he had left early,” she smiled and thanked him.
“I’m running a small errand for them right now, yes hyung I understand, you don’t mind waiting a few more minutes do you? Yes, I will return right now, yes I’ll see you in a few then, bye,” Hankyung hung up his cell phone and got onto the elevator, thanking the people for waiting for him. He had stopped at the fifth floor and decided to get ZhouMi’s his coffee despite Kyuhyun telling him not to. Getting the coffee, Hankyung disappeared into the elevator and returned to the top floor.
“Damnit, ZhouMi, get off me,” Kyuhyun’s voice could be heard as Hankyung stepped off the elevator. He chucked and knocked on the door, letting the two men know he was outside.
“Your coffee,” he placed ZhouMi’s coffee on his desk. “I need to get going, I have to meet someone.” Hankyung bowed and quickly escaped Kyuhyun’s call. Hankyung escaped the elevator doors and took the stairs running down them to the first floor. There is told the driver to drive him back to Choi Empire. In the car, Leeteuk had called again.
“Hankyung, where… oh dear, have you been running?” Eeteuk’s mother-like tone came through the speakers of the car.
“I had to run a small errand, I’ll be there soon,” Hankyung smiled, trying to regain his breath again.
“I’ll see you in a few more minutes then,” Eeteuk smiled and the screen went black again. Hankyung leaned back in the seat, pulling out a folder and a pen, crossing out the first thing on the list and looked at the second item. The car stopped minutes later and the door opened for Hankyung, Hankyung bowed and thanked the driver before rushing inside, until to bump into Euiyun.
“You-you-you dare to bump into me, how dare you,” she raised her hand, ready to slap Hankyung for bumping into him. Hankyung looked at her with wide eyes before shutting them waiting for the impact on his cheek, but it never came.
“That’s enough, Euiyun leave, I’ll come pick you up later,” Siwon’s cold voice washed over Hankyung, it gave he a sense of relief yet also a sense that he was in trouble. “Hankyung, Eeteuk is waiting for you in my office.” Hankyung nodded and picked up the files that were dropped and dashed off to the elevators, but not before bowing to Siwon.
“Siwon, you shouldn’t have—“ Euiyun’s voice was cut off as the elevator doors closed. Hankyung placed his hand over his heart, trying to calm himself down before going to see Eeteuk. In his mind, he replayed Siwon’s cold voice over and over again. The elevator dinged and Hankyung shivered when he was hit with the cold air from the floor.
“Hankyung, Eeteuk’s wait for you inside,” Donghae looked up from his papers and smiled, before going back to them and answering the phone as it rang.
Hankyung walks over to the doors, but not before setting down his bag and the files. He knocks softly and waits for an answer. He had to strain his hearing to hear the ‘come in’ on the other side. Hankyung opens the door and smiles seeing Eeteuk sitting on Siwon’s chair, because, now, there’s a different feel around the room.
“Hankyung,” Eeteuk smiled, a little too bright and it got Hankyung worried. “Please sit, there’s much to discuss.” Eeteuk gestured Hankyung to sit in the seat across from him. Hankyung took his seat and waited for Eeteuk to begin.
Eeteuk looked over from three different folders, “So I have three wonderful young ladies for you Hankyung.” He beamed, before continuing, “I have three different girls for you.” He placed the three folders in front of Hankyung.
Hankyung looked at the first file, “Park Heebon.”
“Heebon-shii is a little off sometimes, but overall she’s a good girl. Very nice but very protective,” Eeteuk paused, “Maybe she shouldn’t be one of the girls.” Eeteuk takes back the file and looks it over before throwing it into the trash can. Eeteuk shook his head before smiling at Hankyung, “Pick another.”
Hankyung reached for another file, “Zhang Riyin, Chinese?” Hankyung looked up from the folder to see Eeteuk smile.
“Yes, Chinese, beautiful as well; I believe she’s from Sichuan. Has a beautiful voice and is very talented on the violin. She’s quiet and young, but she’s very capable of handling conversations.” Eeteuk smiled, before gesturing to the last folder.
Hankyung reached for the last folder as he set Zhang Riyin’s file on his lap, “Kim Yubin?”
“Korean, yes, but she’s sweet. She’s more outspoken then Riyin is but all the same,” Eeteuk smiled. “Take your pick.”
Hankyung looked at both files again, before picking, “Yubin-shii?” Hankyung looked at Eeteuk, who looked a bit scared but smiled all the same.
“Wonderful choice, I’ll get you her number and a meeting before you go to the wedding… party… whatever it is,” Eeteuk waved his hand around before standing up. “I’ll see you tomorrow, for lunch?”
“I don’t know, I have a lot of errands to run,” Hankyung looked at Eeteuk as he stood with Eeteuk.
Eeteuk nodded, “Breakfast then.” Eeteuk smiled and patted Hankyung’s back before leaving the office. Right then Siwon came in.
“Sit,” Siwon came around and sat down in this chair and the atmosphere changed completely. “You took longer than expected.” He looked at Hankyung with cold eyes. “And I don’t want to hear excuses, tomorrow I was supposed to take Euiyun shopping but the meeting and me leaving
