Hankyung woke up to the sound of birds chirping and a heavy body over his legs.
“HANKYUNG!!!!!!!!!!!”
“What happened?” Hankyung looked at Donghae, who had just screamed in his ear.
“Nothing, just time for you to wake up,” Donghae smiled as he petted Andy, who licked his hand and seem to glare at Hankyung. “Siwon-shii, has already went to work, he’s expecting you in an hour for the meeting.”
“Of course,” Hankyung went to move but Donghae was still resting over his legs. “Donghae, I need my legs.”
“You’ll cook breakfast?” Donghae smiled at Hankyung as he petted Andy.
“Yes”
“And something for Andy too,” Donghae smiled at Andy.
“But—“
“I talked with the dog looker person,” Donghae smiled. “They gave an ‘okay’ to chicken? and mix it in with the,” Donghae leaned in, “dog food.”
“Of course,” Hankyung nodded and Donghae got off his legs, allowing him to disappear into the shower.
“Hankyung, I need to go first, Kibum needs me at the office early today. So I can’t wait for you, I’ll be waiting for breakfast and lunch. And Siwon said because Yunho and JaeJoong didn’t come over yesterday for dinner, they’ll be coming over today,” Donghae laughed as he heard a groan from the bathroom. Minutes later, Hankyung stepped out of the bathroom and nearly tripped over Andy, who was waiting for him.
“Hungry?” Hankyung asked nervously as he looked down at Andy. Andy seemed to have nodded before trotting arrogantly out of the room. Hankyung sighed and fixed his tie as he walked out of the room. Hankyung quietly and quickly worked up a meal and placed the chicken in Andy’s food as Donghae requested. “Andy, breakfast!” Andy walked in and went to her food bowl, not minding Hankyung a glance. Hankyung smiled, at least she was coming to his calls now. “I have to go Andy, but I left more food in your food bowl, in your room. Don’t try to eat it all okay.” Hankyung nodded as he grabbed his things and walked out the door where Hazaki was waiting.
“Good morning, sir,” he smiled.
“Hazaki,” Hankyung smiled and looked around. “Where’s your brother?”
“He had something to do today and won’t be back until tomorrow night,” he smiled and held the door open for Hankyung. Hankyung nodded and thanked Hazaki before slipping into the car. Hazaki nodded and headed to the driver seat and drive for the company.
“Hazaki?”
“Yes, sir?”
“No sir, just Hankyung. Can I ask you a question?”
“Of course,” Hazaki looked at Hankyung through the rearview mirror.
“Do you have connections to Japanese companies?”
“I don’t, I’m not sure about Mother or Hozaki,” Hazaki raised an eyebrow. “Why?”
“The company, I’m not trying to be rude,” Hankyung panicked, hoping Hazaki hadn’t gotten the wrong idea.
“No, I believe you. It’s just I haven’t had contact with anyone in
“I’m sorry,” Hankyung’s eyes showed true worry and stubbornness to leave the car.
“You best be on your way, don’t you have a meeting soon?” Hazaki pointed at the clock and Hankyung gasped.
“Crap,” Hankyung threw open the door, but not before slipping out he poked his head back in. “Today, for sharing, coming to pick me up tomorrow?”
“Yes, Geng,” Hazaki smiled. “Why?”
“I’ll tell you later,” Hankyung smiled and slipped out of the car, before power walking to the doors. Turning around he waved bye to Hankyung before slipping into the building, where he disappeared among the many people that busied themselves in the lobby. Hankyung smiled as he saw Junsu holding the elevator for him.
“Hankyung, running a little late?”
“Just a little,” Hankyung smiled as he nodded at Eunhyuk, who had Junsu’s arm around his waist.
“Has the meeting started?”
“No, not for another hour,” Junsu gave Eunhyuk a short kiss before he got off. Junsu smiled and waved before turning back to Hankyung.
“How did Siwon handle the information?”
“Quite well, actually,” Hankyung smiled as they reached their floor. “Although I didn’t hear him come home last night,” Hankyung frowned as he dug through his bag for his glasses.
“You live with him?”
“Yes, as his housekeeper,” Hankyung smiled as he fingered his glasses and slipped them on. The doors opened and revealed the top floor where Siwon was talking with an older man.
“Yes, sir I understand.”
“No, Siwon I don’t think you do,” the older man argued.
“Yes, I understand. I’ll bring him home soon, don’t worry,” Siwon’s eyes flared with anger as the older man would not leave.
“Choi-shii,” Junsu decided it was a good time to take things down a knot. He had taken Hankyung’s things and smiled. “This is the ‘he’ Siwon was talking about.”
“What, what’s go—“
“Go along with it,” Junsu whispered.
“Yes, Father, his is my boyfriend, Han Geng,” Siwon smiled and pulled Hankyung towards him. “He’s from
“I’ll test that for myself,” Siwon’s father made an exit before turning to Siwon. “Catch that rat you have, and bring him over to the house.” The elevators closed and Siwon rubbed his temples. He looked at Hankyung wearily before disappearing into his office.
“Has he eaten?” Hankyung asked as he presented Donghae his share of breakfast and lunch, as well as Kibum.
“No, he was here about five, went home at one,” Donghae eyed the food as he looked at Hankyung.
“Eat,” Hankyung smiled at Junsu before disappearing into the office. “Siwon-shii—“
“What is that you want?” Siwon’s voice seemed tired and old, as if he had aged over the course of the night.
“Have you eaten?” Hankyung looked at Siwon as he placed his breakfast on the table. “It’s not much, but please eat it.”
Siwon looked at the same lunch box and let out a small smile. “Thank you,” he grabbed it and began to it.
“Outside,” Hankyung started and Siwon looked up. “That man is your father?”
“That old man,” Siwon’s eyes narrowed. “Is Yunho’s father, not mine.” Hankyung shivered as the eyes came to land on him.
“Yes, I’m sorry for asking,” Hankyung gulped and let out a small smile. “When you’re done eating, it would be advised to look at their profiles before we go into the meeting.” Hankyung placed six files on Siwon’s desk corner, away from the food so he wasn’t tempted to look at them. Hankyung went to leave the room, when Siwon stopped him.
“Can you call Junsu in?”
“Of course,” Hankyung nodded before slipping out of the room, only to have Junsu come in his place.
“Siwon”
“Junsu,” Siwon finished his last bite, before speaking. “You have the files for your company?”
“I have them,” Junsu placed Siwon’s copy on his desk, and grabbed his copy of the files. “Hankyung do these?”
“I don’t know, I just got back,” Siwon looked at Junsu’s files. “I don’t find anything suspicious from yours. I’m sure it’s one of mine.” Siwon’s eyes glazed over, showing the familiar coldness.
“I’m pinning on the department head of international affairs, but I’m sure she can’t do it alone, seeing how busy she is all the time,” Junsu looked at Siwon, unchanged by the coldness.
“Is that what you think?” Siwon looked at the copy of his file. He sighed and pressed the intercom for Donghae.
“Yes?”
“Get Hankyung back in here”
“You called?” Hankyung stepped into the room.
“You talk with the drivers, I’m correct?”
“Yes, Hozaki and Hazaki”
“Do either of them sound suspicious to you?”
Hankyung looked at the ground, “Hozaki didn’t come to pick me up, Hazaki said it was something about business and he won’t be back until tomorrow night.” Hankyung looked at up Siwon, “I know there’s nothing on Hazaki, but I’m not sure about Hozaki.” Hankyung looked heart-broken as he spoke about Hozaki. Junsu turned and looked at Hankyung then back at Siwon before hiding a smiling behind the folder.
“We need to get this meeting started,” Junsu rose from his seat. “Siwon, Hankyung, shall we?” Siwon and Hankyung nodded, before following Junsu out of the room.
“Donghae, are they all here?”
“No, we’re still waiting for our department head of affairs,” Donghae chewed on his lower lip. Hankyung smiled, whispering that Kibum still had some time.
Kibum came through the stairway door panting, “Elevator was too full… ran.. stairs… tired…” Hankyung smiled at Donghae, who ran to get him some water and sit before they went to the meeting.
“Let’s get to the meeting room then,” Siwon nodded at Junsu, as they entered the elevator and went a few floors down to the conference floor. Siwon led the way to the third room on the left, “Please, have a seat.” The department heads had a seat where their names were placed. Siwon’s on the left side, Junsu’s on the right, Hankyung sat at his spot Siwon’s left side, next to him. “We’ll begin this meeting with introductions, going from left to right.”
“I’m Kim Kibum, Department head of affairs for Choi Empire,” Kim Kibum nodded at the others before sitting down.
“I’m Park Dae-Jung, Department head of affairs for JUMIN,” he nodded at everyone before looking at the next person.
“I’m Shin Donghee, Department head of National affairs for Choi Empire,” he gave everyone a smile before nodding.
“I’m Akita Masa, Department head of National affairs for JUMIN,” she smiled before sitting back down and nodding.
“I’m Ock Joo Hyun, Department head of International affairs for Choi Empire,” she nodded before sitting back down. Hankyung looked at her before the next person spoke.
“I’m Kim Jin Ae, Department head of International affairs for JUMIN,” she smiled and nodded at Junsu.
“And I’m Kim Junsu, CEO of JUMIN,” he nodded at everyone and smiled at Siwon, allowing him to speak.
“I’m sure you all know why you are here,” Siwon stood and looked around the room, allowing Hankyung to catch up on his writing. Hankyung nodded slightly, signaling for Siwon to continue. “It seems that a design from my company was leaked to a Japanese company and then sent to JUMIN,” Siwon dimmed the lights and the projector turned on, showing the design on the screen. “Junsu came to this as very odd, because I’ve already sent it to him prior to the week I leave for
“I will make it clear, that if you don’t speak now. I’ll make sure you lost everything you may have through the Choi Empire,” Siwon looked around the room before smiling. It seemed to him that he had shaken the department heads. “And I’m sure, JUMIN won’t hesitant to do the same.”
“Of course,” Junsu stood and looked at the people seated around the table. “Now, I received this design,” Junsu pressed the next button. “And notice there are some minor differences but the overall designs,” he pressed the same button again, “are the same.” He looked at them, “I would like to know who had the nerve to leak this information out.”
Silence
“No one dares to speak, will then, Siwon, is elimination a choice now?”
“Yes,” Siwon looked at Hankyung and nodded for him to speak. “However before we go on, I need to talk with Hankyung about something?”
“M…me?”
“Yes, quickly now,” Siwon rolled his eyes slightly and excused himself from the meeting, gesturing Junsu to continue. “I want you to go look around in all the department heads of the international business. Start from International and work your way down the floors. If you find anything, that has to do with contact to
“Yes, sir,” Siwon disappeared back into the conference room, leaving Hankyung in the hall. He sighed as he made his way to the elevator, reminding himself to get coffee, when he’s done. “Well... let’s get started,” Hankyung jumped as the elevator slid open as he came near them. Sighing as he got on and pressed the number twenty-nine.
As the elevators slid open, Hankyung realized how important the international affair floor was, everyone was running around, yelling and telling people to answer the phone. “Can I help you?” a taller woman came up to Hankyung snapping at him, as he was blocking the file cabinet she had to get to.
“No, I’ll be in her office,” Hankyung nodded his head as he moved away, and weaved his way towards the closed door.
“You’re not allowed in there, you can wait outside, she’s in a meeting right now,” the same woman snapped at him, angry as she followed him.
“Siwon-shii, sent me, now if you’ll excuse I need to get into her office,” he looked at the taller woman with challenging eyes, that yelled “Move-or-you’ll-lose-your-job”.
She silently debated, only to be cut off by another woman, “go ahead, Xiao Ling has been grumpy when she found out Joo Hyun-Unni was going to be in a meeting.”
“Thank you,” Hankyung nodded at both women and entered the office where he was hit with piles and piles of folders. He sighed and went around the desk and sat in the chair. “Now… where would I put secret transfer information?” He began to search the desk, opening and closing drawers. After ten minutes he collapsed in the chair and frowned, there was no way he would be able to find it. He turned in the chair to leave the room when a small button reflected on the window.
Hankyung looked at the red button that seemed to be underneath the desk. He frowned and looked underneath the desk, and there was a small red button, about 9 centimeters in diameter. He curiously pressed it and a low hiss came into hearing range. He looked around and noticed the desk got a bit taller and a small file cabinet rose. Hankyung looked at is oddly, not remembering seeing that before. He smiled as it opened, and a television screen popped out. Turning it on, the screen was zoomed onto Eunhyuk’s desk, Kibum’s desk, and Shindong’s desk. Underneath that, there was a drawer, pulling it open, it had various remotes and a thick folder.
Upon taking it out, his phone rang. The caller id, showed it to be a unknown number. Hankyung looked at it before taking the call.
“Hankyung, bring back whatever you’ve found, we need to get this case done with,” Siwon ordered.
Hankyung looked at the phone before sighing and placing it back into his pocket. He took the thick file, nodded. Quickly he hurried out the door, nodding at the two ladies as they were about to knock on the door. He waited for an elevator, as he opened he quickly boarded not waiting for the man that had asked him to hold it. Arriving back on the conference floor, Hankyung cursed as he forgot Siwon’s coffee. Frowning, as Siwon opened the door, looking at the folder and the coffee-empty hands.
“Please, do hurry up,” Siwon groaned as he rubbed his temples.
“Yes… well…” Hankyung looked at all the faces as he entered the room, setting the folder down and opening the first folder. “I went over each and every one of your files, which include – contract, interview, application, expenses through the company and the meeting just now.”
“Yes,” Siwon nodded in approval.
“Both Department heads for affairs are clear, nothing in both your files had anything to do with the incident,” Kibum and Dae-Jung let out a breath that they had seem to be holding. “Next I looked at Department heads of National affairs… I was suspicious of Akita Masa because of the Japanese name, but looking into your file, you don’t have connections any of the big name companies nor did you have contact with the current one, so both Department heads for National affairs are cleared.” Hankyung stopped for a drink and looked at Siwon, who looked at Junsu, before putting his attention back on Hankyung.
“Last is the Department heads of International affairs,” Hankyung looked at both, before continuing. “I looked in Kim Jin Ae’s first, because you are international I didn’t want to give you any cut and through your file, you have no connections what so ever with the Japanese Company involved so you are cleared, Ock Joo Hyun, yourself on the other hand, have made contact with the company and have been to Japan on Choi Empire expense visiting this company. I’ve also went to your office, and found this thick folder, in a rather well-hidden file cabinet.” He looked at Joo Hyun as he placed the folder in front of Siwon and Junsu. Siwon silently went over the folder, his mask covering any emotion or expression he might have had. He looked at Hankyung then Junsu before dialing the company number that was on one of the first pieces of paper and let Junsu speak with the older man as his voice filled the room.
“Hello, is this Ikasoa-san?” Junsu spoke in his fluent Japanese.
“Hai, who is this?” the older man replied, sounding confused as why there was an international call.
“Hai, I’m Kim Junsu, of JUMIN. I understand that you sent me your design this yesterday morning through fax,” Junsu stated as he stated who he was.
“Ah, Junsu-kun, how are you? Yes I sent that but I must say…”
“May I ask if I can send you a comparison? I was delivered the same design here in
“This is the same design,” the older man’s voice filled the room again, breaking the silence. “But how is that possible?”
“And may I ask who sent it to you?” Junsu looked at Siwon out of the corner of his eye, noticing how tense and rigid the body was from the conversation.
“Yes, I don’t know what company she works for but her name is…” The sound of papers rustling was heard. “Ahh, here it is, Joo Hyun-san of Choi Empire… tell me is the CEO of Choi Empire there? I would like to make an apology, I didn’t know.”
“Yes of course, just a minute sir,” Junsu looked at Siwon and silently told him to say hello.
“Yes?” Siwon’s voice cut the tension as his voice wasn’t cold, nor was it harsh. “I am Choi Siwon of Choi Empire, how are you?”
“Choi-san I am so sorry, I must of cost your company many troubles because of this design. It was just sent to me and I had the fax traced back to your company, thinking the fax-er used one of your fax machine. I never told she would’ve stolen it. I am terribly sorry.”
“It is resolved now,” Siwon nodded. “Please, if you come to
“Yes, good day,” the click was heard as the other line hung up. Siwon then turned to the department heads and looked at Joo Hyun.
“How dare you put my company in the line embarrassment,” he walked towards her. “Is there anyone else you’re working with?”
She looked at Siwon before speaking, “No…no, it’s just me alone.”
“You better not be lying, because I’ll make yours and however is working with you living hell for the rest of your live,” Siwon paused to clear his head before continuing. “I want your office cleared by tonight, I want everything that you have under the Choi Empire name, returned or left here, I will have Eunhyuk, department head of visual watching you, and who ever else. Make sure I don’t see your face around here again,” Siwon made every point clear. “Do I make myself clear?”
“Yes… yes sir,” she left her folder and files before leaving the room.
“You are all dismissed,” Siwon glared at each and every one of the department heads, who all quickly made their way to the door. Junsu looked at Siwon before walking over to him.
“Siwon, Siwon,” Junsu put his head on Siwon’s shoulder. “What’s done is done,” he turned to Hankyung, “Can you tell the advertising department to put advertises into the papers for a new department head of International affairs? Make sure to run it through Donghae then the department head and then the department head for affairs.”
“Yes sir,” Hankyung bowed and left the room, returning back to the top floor.
“DONGHAE-HYUNG!”
“Taemin-ah? What are you doing here?”
“Jinki-Appa had some business and Kibum-Umma is busy with schedules,” a younger man spoke with Donghae smiling.
“Hankyung, how was your meeting?”
“Nerve-wrecking, can you tell Eunhyuk to watch over Joo Hyun as she packs her things?”
“Sure of course,” Donghae went to the phones and began to call.
“I’m Taemin, Siwon-hyung’s nephew,” Taemin smiled brightly at Hankyung as he shook hands with the younger boy.
“I’m Hankyung,” Hankyung smiled back.
“Is Siwon-hyung busy?”
“He should be coming soon—“
“Taemin, what are you doing here?”
